Formula 1 Racing Betting Choices, Forecasts, and Wagers for the Dutch Grand Prix

The Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix is set to take place on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the iconic Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands. This highly-anticipated event will see some of the world's best drivers competing for victory, with Max Verstappen and Lando Norris leading the charge.

Red Bull Racing will be represented by Verstappen and Liam Lawson at the Grand Prix. Verstappen, the hometown hero, is the third favourite to win the race, with implied win odds of 10%. His dominant performance against Lawson in qualifying so far this season suggests he is in formidable form. Lawson, on the other hand, will be looking to learn from his more experienced teammate.

McLaren's Norris has been impressing this season with his tire conservation masterclasses, and he is favoured to outperform Oscar Piastri over the 72-lap race. Piastri, however, starts on pole for the Grand Prix, with Norris alongside him. This gives McLaren a full front-row lockout, setting the stage for an exciting battle between the two teammates.

The betting odds for Norris over Piastri are +165 at Caesars, but our model predicts a close race between the two. The matchup has been tight this weekend, despite Norris's qualifying struggles.

Esteban Ocon is predicted to finish 0.8 positions ahead of Oliver Bearman in the Dutch Grand Prix. Ocon's race pace trends stronger than Bearman's on comparable tracks, according to the model. Bearman has looked composed in tricky spots this weekend, but Ocon's experience in managing tire wear and long stints gives him an edge.

Lando Norris is not the only McLaren driver favoured to outperform his rivals. Our model has Norris finishing ahead of Piastri in the Dutch Grand Prix, despite Piastri's qualifying advantage. Fernando Alonso is also favoured over Liam Lawson in the race, with odds of 1.34u at BetRivers. Alonso is predicted to finish more than a full position clear of Lawson.

The race will start at 9:00 a.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN. The forecast for the race calls for cool, dry conditions, which should make for exciting racing at Circuit Zandvoort.

There are two DRS zones at Circuit Zandvoort, but passing is considered difficult. Lance Stroll's accidents this weekend may give Alonso a clear pit strategy advantage, as teams scramble to avoid any potential disruptions.

Pirelli has brought a tire lineup for the Dutch Grand Prix that is one step softer than last year across all three compounds. This could lead to some exciting tire strategies and pit stops throughout the race. A two-stop strategy may be attempted by some teams to create drama, but the optimal approach is still expected to be a one-stop strategy.

As we prepare for the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix, it's clear that we are in for a thrilling race. Verstappen, Norris, Alonso, and Ocon will all be battling it out for victory, with Piastri and Bearman looking to challenge them. Tune in to ESPN on Sunday, August 31, to witness the action unfold.
