Formula One's Italian Grand Prix at Monza in 2025 - Dates, Timetable, and Complete Track Details

The Italian Grand Prix at the iconic Monza circuit is set to return on Sunday, September 7, 2025, promising a thrilling race for Formula 1 fans.

The Monza circuit, officially known as Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, is the oldest active Formula 1 track, having opened in September 1922 and joining the Formula 1 calendar in 1950. The circuit spans 5.793 km and features 11 corners, making it one of the fastest circuits on the Formula 1 calendar. More than 84% of the lap distance is driven at full throttle, with an average speed of around 270 km/h.

The race distance for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza is 306.720 km, consisting of 53 laps. The schedule includes a free practice session on Friday, September 5, at 1:30 PM and 5:00 PM, and another on Saturday, September 6, at 12:30 PM. The qualifying round is scheduled for Saturday, September 6, at 4:00 PM, and the race is set for Sunday, September 7, at 3:00 PM.

However, one notable change for the 2025 season is the elimination of the bonus point for the fastest lap.

The Italian Grand Prix is known for its challenges, with its high speeds, harsh braking zones, and technical precision making it one of the most demanding races for drivers and teams. Aerodynamics play a crucial role at Monza, with teams opting for low ground clearance to achieve better grip.

Nico Hülkenberg, a driver for Sauber, had a disappointing start to the season, finishing 18th in the Chinese Grand Prix. Hülkenberg's car suffered damage due to a slide into the gravel trap in the first lap of the race.

In a significant move, Audi will take over as a factory team for Hülkenberg in 2026, with the Sauber racing team being rebranded as Audi Revolut F1 Team.

The 2025 Formula 1 season started on March 16, 2025, in Melbourne, Australia, and consists of 24 races across five continents. Unfortunately, Germany will not host a Grand Prix this season due to lack of financial resources.

With the Italian Grand Prix at Monza promising a thrilling race and a return to one of the most challenging circuits on the Formula 1 calendar, fans are eagerly awaiting the event.
