FPL Week 2 Overview: Essential Players to Incorporate in Your Team Selection

The Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is currently in full swing, with the opening weekend of the Premier League season having concluded. One of the standout matches was West Ham hosting Chelsea in Gameweek 1, a game that saw Sunderland smash West Ham with a 3-0 win.

In this game, Joao Pedro from Chelsea remains a risk due to Liam Delap's late entry and decent chance to win the game. Forward options from Liverpool, Eliezer Mayenda (£5.5m) and Hugo Ekitike (£8.6m), could be strong picks despite tough fixtures.

Manchester City assets proved fruitful in the opening weekend, and Rayan Ait-Nouri (£6.0m) or Rico Lewis (£5.0m) could be strong defender picks. Meanwhile, Dan Ballard (£4.6m) from Sunderland is a top FPL GW1 point scorer and could be a strong differential for managers.

Another team to watch is Bournemouth, whose defense could provide strong alternative options for defenders. Antoine Semenyo (£7.1m) from Bournemouth is the second most transferred in player and may be worth considering due to the Cherries' upcoming fixtures. Evanilson (£7.0m) from Bournemouth is another option due to their kinder run.

In goalkeeping, Robert Sanchez (£5.0m) from Chelsea and Djordje Petrovic (£4.5m) from Bournemouth are strong picks for Gameweek 2. Manchester City's Tijjani Reijnders (£5.6m) is the most transferred in player for Gameweek 2 and is considered an absolute steal.

Erling Haaland (£14.0m) from Manchester City started strongly but has Spurs next, while Mohamed Salah (£14.5m) from Liverpool bailed out FPL managers late in the game against Bournemouth. Chris Wood (£7.6m) from Nottingham Forest scored a brace in the 3-1 win over Brentford and is being deemed as worth his price tag.

Looking ahead to Gameweek 3, Mohammed Kudus (£6.5m) from Spurs had a strong start and may be worth considering. indy100 recommended players for FPL Gameweek 3 included Mohamed Salah, Marcus Rashford, and Kieran Trippier.

It's worth noting that Liverpool's Jeremie Frimpong (£6.0m) is currently ruled out until after the international break, while Liverpool only just edged out Bournemouth in the opening weekend.

Chelsea was held to a goalless draw with Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro in the opening weekend, and Cole Palmer (£10.5m) from Chelsea could be worth sticking with for now due to their kinder run.

The FPL deadline for Gameweek 1 is 90 minutes before the West Ham vs Chelsea match, so managers have little time left to finalise their teams. Keep an eye on these players and teams for the upcoming Gameweeks!
