In recent news, a poll conducted by the Lazarsfeld Society for oe24 has shown a glimmer of hope for the OVP and the new Chancellor candidate, Christian Stocker. The survey was carried out between March 31 and April 8, with a sample size of 2,000 respondents, and has a maximum margin of error of 2.2%.

The current governing parties, the traffic light parties, are maintaining their positions. The Greens remain at 8%, while NEOS hold steady at 10%. The OVP, an abbreviation for a political party, is experiencing an upward trend, with the new Chancellor candidate, Christian Stocker, improving his standing in the Chancellor question. In the poll, he received 14% of direct voter support for the Chancellery, marking a significant improvement from previous weeks.

Meanwhile, the FPO, another political party, is in a position to only watch and reap poll benefits. Led by Herbert Kickl, the FPO is currently calculated to win an election with 33%, a decrease of 1 point from the previous week. However, Kickl still leads in a hypothetical direct Chancellor vote, with 27% support, compared to Stocker's 13%.

Interestingly, the traffic light parties, OVP and SPO, are in a strong second place, each calculated to win 21% of the vote. This suggests a favourable outcome for the current governing parties, who are currently focusing on repairing the budget.

In the competitive race for the Chancellor position, Herbert Kickl remains ahead of Christian Stocker, but Stocker is setting himself apart from NEOS leader Beate Meinl-Reisinger and Andreas Babler (SPO). The Reds, another political party, are also in a position to challenge the turquoise-black coalition partner.

This poll result indicates a shift in public sentiment towards the new Chancellor candidate, Christian Stocker, and the OVP. As the election approaches, it will be interesting to see how these trends continue to develop.
