Contemporary Chronicles and Ambitions Unveiled
Fresh additions to the online forum: "YogaGuru88" and "AibekT" diaries
Howdy folks,
Being the offspring of a journalist, I've had the urge to pen my thoughts and opinions for quite a spell. Nevertheless, I've found myself drowning in work and never seemed to discover the perfect timing or motivation. That all changed a while back when I stumbled upon poker and this lively platform.
Let me introduce myself – I go by the moniker Taiyr, though my mates know me as the YogaGuru88. I've just clocked in 26 years on this earth, with a loser of a "state finance" diploma and a series of dreary desk jobs under my belt. With the cream of my crew writing their exits, I'm currently enjoying the luxurious lifestyle of redundancy.
Finding myself at loose ends gave me the opportunity to dive headfirst into the world of poker. I first played in February 2015 (wish I'd learned about it sooner, oh well!), and after some trial and error, I managed to nab the Silverstar playing ZOOM NL5. In celebration, I jumped ship to NL25 6-max, albeit with adverse results as I'd run out of my funds and was forced to retreat with a paltry $53 in my bankroll. A valuable lesson learned – playing above your means ain't the smartest move!
I've discovered that I thrive in turbo sit & go events with 180 players; I've barely clinched 2nd place, earned 3rd thrice, and made it to final tables a-plenty. Though I'm still running at a loss, I've got my sights set on improving my game. Based on my deposits, it's safe to say I've been kindly enriching the coffers of PokerStars and a couple of other fortunate souls to the tune of $250.71.
Personal Objectives
To elevate my poker prowess, I've set myself the following goals for the year's end:
- Conquer a tournament with winnings of more than $100.
- Amass a bankroll exceeding $1,000.
- Crack the top 3 in a kiloplay.
- Procure tournament winnings of over $1,000.
- Secure a net gain of profit greater than $1,000.
To make my goals a reality, I intend to immerse myself in poker literature, watch tutorial videos, and analyze my played tournaments.
Yesterday, I analyzed my freshly played $2.5 tournament with 180 players – to my shock, I discovered critical missteps and dubious decisions I neglected to notice during the game. Despite ending up in 9th, I feel a renewed sense of determination to refine my skills.
In the near future, I aim to participate in micro millions tournaments and allocate my FTP towards Sunday Storm or Big11 tourneys.
That's a wrap for now, folks! Until the next update.
Best of luck to all!

Aibek's Chronicles on the Forums
Hello one and all, Aibek at your service! I'm a 26-year-old poker enthusiast (or alcoholic, if you ask my mates). My life in poker started simply enough, with my workmates discussing a hand, and after my probing questions, I was enlightened to the existence of TitanPoker and its promises of no-deposit bonuses. Despite some minor hiccups, I stumbled into MTTs and never looked back.
After a month of on-and-off play, I finally managed to clinch my first-ever MTT. Several more victories rolled in, although I must admit I spent some of my winnings on nights out with the lads, none of whom were harmed in the process. One particularly memorable night, I triumphantly won $2.2K while inebriated (though the details remain hazy).
GODMODE
The biggest win of my life – roughly $6.8k – came in the midst of a downswing, and although I can't remember the experience, my loved ones were overjoyed. My family and friends basked in the limelight, claiming I was on the verge of becoming a millionaire. I carried on winning small amounts each week, hitting at least $200, until one fateful night when fate introduced me to the notorious Ms. "Downswing."
Change of Tides
Having worked in Oral as an engineer for several months, I realized that I needed to make some changes to improve my life and quit my toxic habits, such as smoking, drinking, and playing lackadaisically. I decided to move from that province to the bustling city of Almaty.
After informing my supportive parents of my plans, I began making arrangements to leave in the new year, and eventually secured a transfer to a head office in Ate, paving the way for my epic move to Almaty. Now, I'm here – tapping away at work, sipping on fine pu-erh tea (quality stuff!), and taking a dip in the pool, all while my poker winnings might not be impressive, I remain hopeful that my life has taken a turn for the better, and my shift in perspective is just the beginning of a long journey towards forward momentum!
Almaty Adventures
My first successful tournament here in Almaty was the Super Knockout for $10.5k, and despite being eliminated on the money, I took the setback in stride, knowing that's how the game of poker goes sometimes.
Peace be upon everyone!
