Fresh wind turbines installed at Ulrichstein
In a significant stride towards renewable energy, five new wind turbine facilities have been installed in the picturesque Vogelsberg region, near Ulrichstein, Hesse. The new facilities, commissioned by the VSB Group, mark the completion of Hesse's largest repowering project to date.
The Repowering project in Hessen, characterised by a total capacity three times higher and an annual output nearly five times greater than the old wind turbines, was carried out by the VSB Group. One of Europe's largest repowering wind parks, with an installed capacity of 105.6 MW and a sixfold increase in energy yield compared to the original park, has been established.
The new wind turbine facilities, capable of producing five times more electricity than the old facilities, can theoretically supply electricity to around 20,000 households. However, the specific location of the power output increase within the Vogelsberg region is not specified.
The old wind turbines have been dismantled as part of this project, and the new facilities have been officially inaugurated today. The total cost of the project was around 50 million euros.
HessenEnergie, a 100% subsidiary of OVAG, was responsible for the planning, project development, and construction supervision of the wind farm. The operator of these facilities is OVAG, making the wind farm developed by HessenEnergie the most powerful in OVAG's portfolio.
The press release about the project comes from OVAG. The annual power output of the five new wind turbine facilities will increase by almost fivefold compared to the old facilities, but the wind farm's power output decrease is not specified in the given paragraph. The completion date of the project beyond it being inaugurated today is not mentioned in the information provided.
