Frustrated Chargers supporters express dissatisfaction over the display of Chiefs logo in end zone during their designated home game in Brazil
In an unexpected turn of events, Chargers fans are voicing their discontent over the field setup during the AFC West matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers, which took place in São Paulo, Brazil last year.
During the game, the end zones were adorned only with the Eagles' name and colours, despite the Chargers being one of the two teams competing. This unusual arrangement has left some Chargers fans feeling frustrated, as they believe the Chiefs having their own end zone for a Chargers 'home game' is absurd.
One Chargers fan expressed their dissatisfaction, stating, "It's just not right that the Chiefs have their own end zone in our home game. It's absurd." Another fan questioned why the NFL forgot the Chargers are the home team.
The field at Neo Química Arena, however, did display the Chiefs' logo and name in one end zone, despite it being considered a Chargers home game. This inconsistency has added fuel to the fans' frustration.
Interestingly, the NFL has announced plans for the 2025 international season, where both teams' logos will be represented in the end zones during the seven games overseas. This change is expected to address the concerns raised by Chargers fans and ensure a fair representation for all teams participating in the international games.
The next international game will be in Week 4 between the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin, Ireland. Following this, London will host three NFL games in Weeks 5-7, followed by a Week 10 matchup in Berlin, Germany. The final game overseas in 2025 will be in Week 11 in Madrid, Spain.
In the meantime, the next time the Chargers and Chiefs meet after the international game will be Dec. 14 in Kansas City.
