Fugitive evading capture following a deadly shooting at a Texas bar, where five more individuals were wounded and one lost their life, according to authorities.

In a shocking incident, a shooting occurred at the Alas Locas sports bar in Cleveland, Texas, on Sunday morning. The Houston Police Department has arrested a 25-year-old Venezuelan national, Jose Miguel Briceno, in connection with the shooting.

The shooting, which took place between midnight and 2:30 a.m. local time, left one person dead and five others wounded. Briceno is accused of using a .40 or .45-caliber handgun in the attack, but the firearm was never recovered by law enforcement.

According to federal prosecutors, the shooting was allegedly a result of a "turf war" between the Anti-Tren and TdA gangs. Briceno was charged with aggravated assault and mass shooting stemming from the incident.

The suspect was quietly drinking at the bar before the shooting. He then reportedly left the bar in a white full-size van with no side windows, firing at least 20 shots before fleeing the scene.

If convicted, Briceno faces a sentence of up to 15 years in prison. However, he has yet to enter a plea to the charges.

Sadly, one victim, who was at the bar with his wife, was critically injured and later died at a hospital. Six people were shot during the incident, including four who were critically injured.

This is not the first time the Latinas Sports Bar has been the scene of a mass shooting. In June, six people were shot during another incident at the bar in southwest Houston. A second suspect in the shooting is still being sought, and police believe he fled to Mexico, authorities said.

Interestingly, Briceno was among 16 foreign nationals illegally residing in the Houston area indicted on federal drug trafficking and weapons charges in June.

The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to be released as the case unfolds. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
