Future of Lookman at Atalanta uncertain amid speculation of move to Inter
Ademola Lookman's future at Atalanta remains uncertain as the transfer deadline approaches. The English winger has been training separately from the squad, indicating his desire to force a move to Inter Milan.
Ivan Juric, Atalanta's boss, has expressed his uncertainty about Lookman's future, stating that he knows nothing about the player's current situation. Juric believes additional signings could freshen up the squad, and he is hopeful of more moves before the window shuts.
Inter Milan had a bid for Lookman rejected at the end of last month. The bid, reported to be around €45 million, was not enough to convince Atalanta to sell. Atalanta's chief executive, Luca Percassi, has stated that Lookman would only leave for a club outside of Italy's top league.
Despite the rejection, Lookman's pursuit of a move to Inter Milan has not waned. Juric, however, is hesitant over whether Lookman will still make a move before the window shuts or be reintegrated into the squad for the season ahead.
In a recent pre-match press conference, Juric stated, "I don't have any news about Lookman's situation. We'll see what happens in the next few days."
Lookman's self-imposed exile from the squad has left a gap in Atalanta's lineup. His absence has been noticeable, and fans have been eager to see him back in action. However, it seems that Lookman will remain at Atalanta for the 2025/26 Serie A season.
With the transfer window drawing to a close, it remains to be seen whether Lookman will stay at Atalanta or secure a move away. The saga continues as both parties navigate the complexities of modern football transfers.
