Gang of Chinese origin evades capture following aborted kidnapping incident in Pattaya's central district

In the early hours of today, an attempted kidnapping of Chinese nationals took place at a two-storey pool villa in Suphamit Village, Tambon Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district, Pattaya.

According to reports, the suspects involved in the incident tried to bind a woman and demand ransom. Fortunately, the woman managed to escape and sought help from a neighbour. However, the specific identities of the suspects have not been disclosed.

Upon receiving the report, officers from patrol and investigation units rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, police found a white saloon car parked outside the property. The incident was reported to Pol Lt Col Anek Sarathongyu, superintendent of Pattaya City Police Station.

The Chinese couple who own the house are being questioned to determine motives and identify any networks involved in the incident. The investigation is also focusing on establishing the motives behind the kidnapping attempt.

The Thai woman who escaped from the kidnapping attempt alerted the police, who are now pursuing the perpetrators in relation to the incident. Neighbours saw two men in the car and witnessed a woman running from the house, screaming for help.

The suspects rammed their vehicle into a civilian vehicle and a police motorbike when they saw the officers, causing the motorcycle to overturn. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The police are searching the crime scene and examining CCTV footage along the escape route. The incident was reported to have occurred at 3am today. The perpetrators fled towards Soi Huai Yai, possibly using local escape routes.

Investigations are ongoing, and police have not yet released detailed information about the case. However, they assured the public that they are doing everything in their power to apprehend the suspects and bring them to justice. The Chinese man who was detained with the woman inside the house has not been identified.

The police are urging anyone with information about the incident or the suspects to come forward and contact the Pattaya City Police Station. The safety and security of the community are their top priority.
