Gathering at Kaiserwetter on the North Baltic Sea for the Elderly Group
On a beautiful day, the residents of Huus Binnendiek, a senior living community, embarked on an outing to Kanal 33. The event was meticulously planned by employee Karen Bleck, who arranged for a bus charter and a reservation at the destination.
The outing began with a picturesque ride into the countryside over the Geest to Hohenhoern at the North-Ostsee-Kanal. The group, comprising twelve residents and several care workers, enjoyed the journey, with small groups, including the elderly in wheelchairs, taking a ride on the canal ferry.
The owner of the Luneburg bus company, Breiholz, drove the bus for the outing, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey for all. Thomas Breiholz, the bus driver, navigated the group back and forth with ease.
Upon arrival at Kanal 33, the residents were treated to coffee and rhubarb cake. They took a group photo against the backdrop of the canal scenery before setting off back home.
Among the residents participating was Frau Hundt, who celebrated her 100th birthday just a few days prior. The group almost arrived back at Huus Binnendiek in time for dinner.
During the return journey, the group enjoyed the light breeze on the ferry deck. They even caught glimpses of smaller ships and a larger container ship cruising along the canal.
A heartfelt thank you was expressed to the care and nursing staff, Karen for organizing the trip, and Thomas Breiholz for his safe driving. It was a day filled with joy, camaraderie, and beautiful memories for the residents of Huus Binnendiek.
