Gathering at Wasserburg this fall
The Autumn Festival at Haus Graven is set to take place on Sunday, September 14, from 11 am to 6 pm. This free event, organised by the Haus Graven Foundation and the Environmental and Climate Protection Education Centre (BZUK), promises a day filled with activities for all age groups, including schools and kindergartens.
Admission to the festival is free, and visitors can enjoy a variety of workshops and courses throughout the day. Taster courses start at 11 am every hour until 4 pm, offering a glimpse into various topics such as Herb Magic, where participants learn about wild herbs and prepare herb butter, and a workshop focusing on trees and explaining why leaves change color in the fall.
Hannah Kruft, who has expanded her collection of natural history specimens and acquired more display materials for the BZUK in Haus Graven, will be on hand to advise on all questions related to the BZUK's offerings at the festival. She has also organised various courses and workshops for families, including one for children aged six and above, where they can build a birdhouse under guidance at noon.
Regular guided tours will be offered by the Haus Graven Water Castle Support Association, and art exhibitions in the castle are also part of the festival. Stalls offering information and goods will be present, including BUND and the city of Langenfeld's climate protection team.
For those who love the outdoors, nature-friendly activities are planned for the event. Juggler Herr Jeminé will be attending the festival to entertain visitors, and bicycle parking is available on-site, with cars able to park at the Segelflugplatz, Graf-von-Mirbach-Weg.
The Autumn Festival at Haus Graven is not only for the able-bodied, as events for seniors and for the visually impaired have been organised. So, come along and enjoy a day of learning, fun, and nature at the Autumn Festival at Haus Graven.
