German authorities detain returned Romanians at border checkpoints

In a recent development, a Romanian national was arrested near Kiefersfelden on August 27th by the Federal Police Inspectorate Rosenheim. The arrest was made on the A93 by the Rosenheim Federal Police officers.

The Federal Police Inspectorate Rosenheim is the authority responsible for maintaining safety in rail passengers and rail infrastructure, spanning approximately 370 kilometers of track and around 70 stations and stops. The agency is also primarily active against the smuggling of foreigners and irregular, illegal migration in an approximately 200-kilometer-long section of the German-Austrian border.

The Romanian national is expected to spend 195 days in the Bernau Prison. The head of the Federal Police Inspection Rosenheim, responsible for the authority that conducted the arrest, is Stefan Kurth.

The Federal Police Inspectorate Rosenheim covers the districts of Miesbach, Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and the city and district of Rosenheim. The agency is particularly active against cross-border crime.
