Germany Tour 2025 Telecasted from Essen to Magdeburg by ARD and ZDF
The Deutschland Tour Kicks Off: Exciting Coverage Awaits
The Deutschland Tour, Germany's only stage race at world level, is currently underway. This year's event promises to be a thrilling spectacle, with varied landscapes and exciting race sections that are sure to deliver spectacular images and emotional moments.
The action gets underway on August 21, with the first stage broadcast live from 2:10 PM by ARD, leading from Essen to Herford in East Westphalia. The prologue of the tour will be broadcast live on ZDF on August 20 at Zeche Zollverein in Essen.
ARD and ZDF are collaborating to bring extensive coverage of the tour to viewers and listeners. The Saarland Broadcasting Corporation is responsible for the ARD's coverage of the Deutschland Tour, including television, radio, online, and social media. The Saarländischer Rundfunk, which has previously handled the men's and women's Tour de France coverage, will lead ARD's coverage of the Deutschland Tour.
Moritz Cassalette and Steffen Gaa will be on-site tour reporters for ARD radio, providing live updates and insights from the race. Meanwhile, Florian Naß and Rick Zabel will commentate the live broadcasts on ARD Mediathek. Michael Antwerpes will moderate the live broadcasts on the first day and ARD Mediathek.
On August 22, the race will move to Arnsberg in the Sauerland, as covered by ZDF. Denise Schindler will serve as an expert on the "sportstudio live" broadcasts on ZDF, while Andreas Kürten and Marcel Kittel will commentate the broadcasts. Florian Zschiedrich will moderate the "sportstudio live" broadcasts on ZDF. The third stage of the Deutschland Tour will connect Arnsberg with Kassel on August 23, as covered by ARD.
The final leg of the tour will lead from Halle an der Saale to Magdeburg on August 24, as covered by ZDF. One of the stars of the race will be Florian Lipowitz, who finished third in this year's Tour de France and won the white jersey for the best young rider.
The Director-General of Saarland Broadcasting, Martin Grasmuck, expressed excitement for the upcoming Deutschland Tour. "We are looking forward to another exciting edition of the Deutschland Tour," he said. "Our team is ready to bring the action to our audience, both on television, radio, online, and social media."
In addition to the live broadcasts, Moritz Cassalette will also host the popular Tour Radio podcast, providing in-depth analysis and interviews with riders and team managers.
