Gianni Infantino, the head of FIFA, meets with President Ruto, seals a deal for Kenya's FIFA Technical Centre by acquiring necessary land, and attends the final of CHAN 2024 in the country.

In a landmark visit to Kenya, FIFA President Gianni Infantino met with President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi, to hand over the land for the construction of a new Football Kenya Federation national technical center. This significant development marks a promising step in Kenya's football revival.

The new technical center, located in Machakos County, is set to become a hub for the nation's football teams and a beacon of hope for the Kenyan footballers of tomorrow. The project, estimated to cost USD 4.6 million, is supported by FIFA Forward funding and is nearing completion.

The state-of-the-art facility will include one natural grass pitch, two artificial turf pitches, an administration block, and modern conference facilities. This new infrastructure, along with the ongoing completion of other stadiums in Kenya, suggests a bright future for Kenyan football.

Infantino expressed his admiration for the love of football among Nairobi's fans, praising them for their enthusiasm during the CHAN final at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. The CHAN final, a competition reserved for players based in their home leagues, saw a pulsating match between Morocco and Madagascar.

Infantino congratulated Morocco on their victory, and Madagascar was also commended for their impressive performance in the final. The FIFA President further expressed great congratulations to Kenya, President Ruto, CAF, and FIFA Vice President Patrice Motsepe for their contributions to Kenya's football revival.

The Talanta Stadium, one of the flagship venues for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, is currently being completed. The upcoming AFCON promises to bring even more excitement to the Kenyan football scene.

As the new technical center nears completion, it is clear that Kenya's football revival is well underway. The individuals involved in the implementation of the new football technical center in Machakos include local government officials, Kenya Football Federation members, construction firms, and various sports development stakeholders.

The new technical center is aimed at becoming a backbone for football development in Kenya, ensuring a strong foundation for the sport's growth and success in the future. With the support of FIFA and the Kenyan government, the future of Kenyan football looks bright.
