Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani Hospitalized After Car Accident
Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, was involved in a car accident on Saturday evening. The news was confirmed by Giuliani's head of security, Michael Ragusa, on Sunday.
According to Ragusa, the accident occurred when Giuliani's vehicle was struck from behind at a high speed. As a result, Giuliani sustained a fractured thoracic vertebrae, injuries to his left arm and lower leg, and multiple lacerations and contusions.
Following the crash, Giuliani was taken to a trauma center for treatment. Doctors at the trauma center diagnosed Giuliani with several significant injuries, but Ragusa reported that they are pleased with his progress so far.
Andrew Giuliani, Rudy Giuliani's son, took to social media to update the public on his father's condition. He thanked everyone for their prayers and called his father "the toughest SOB I've ever seen!"
Ragusa also stated that the accident was "not a targeted attack." Giuliani is currently being treated by doctors in a regional trauma center, with his business partner and a medical provider overseeing his care.
Despite his injuries, Giuliani is fully alert and conscious. Ragusa reported that he is in great spirits.
The specific names of the doctors treating Rudy Giuliani have not been disclosed, but the former mayor is receiving the best possible care. Everyone is hoping for a speedy and full recovery for the former mayor.
