In an exciting development for the fitness industry, Gold's Gym and World Gym have announced their expansion into Brazil, a country that boasts a strong culture of fitness and healthy living.

According to the latest statistics, nearly 80% of active consumers in Brazil hold a gym membership, making it the second-largest fitness market in the world, with over 20,000 clubs and millions of active members.

The expansion is led by a team of fitness industry veterans, including Dan Chor, Felipe Frajhof, Washington Kasprzykowski, and Michel Amorim. Chor expressed his excitement about bringing Gold's Gym to Brazil, stating that the brand's focus on strength and performance roots aligns perfectly with Brazil's fitness culture.

The new gyms in Brazil will aim to help individuals fulfill their potential and reach their fitness goals, with the flagship Gold's Gym club in Brazil drawing design inspiration from the original Venice Beach location, The Mecca. The flagship club will feature brick walls, wooden accents, a reproduction of the gym's famous green wall, and premium amenities like Olympic lifting platforms.

Gold's Gym is expanding into Brazil through a master franchise agreement, and the expansion will include 60 locations over the next 10 years, starting in 2026. The Latin American fitness sector is also expanding rapidly, with 61% of urban Latin Americans exercising regularly, and gyms and studios being the preferred venue for more than half of them.

World Gym is also expanding into Brazil, with both brands signing master franchise agreements. World Gym aims to open 50 gyms across Brazil over the next five years, positioning Brazil to become World Gym's third-largest market globally. However, there is no information in the search results about the group opening the new World Gym branch in Brasília.

Gold's Gym is famous for its association with icons like Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the expansion in Brazil is seen as a perfect 60th birthday present for the brand. The Fitness Equipment Market is expected to expand by over $8 billion by 2030, and both Gold's Gym and World Gym are well-positioned to capitalise on this growth.

In addition to Brazil, Gold's Gym has franchise commitments for more than 200 new sites and is seeking additional master partners in countries like Argentina, Colombia, Chile, and Mexico. The expansion of these two iconic fitness brands in Latin America is set to revolutionise the fitness landscape in the region, providing more opportunities for individuals to achieve their fitness goals.
