Guinea is poised to make history as the first Francophone country in West Africa to host the Transform Africa Summit (TAS25) in 2025. The capital city, Conakry, will play host to this significant international event, marking a significant step towards Guinea's ambition to become a hub for innovation and technology in the region.

The Transform Africa Summit (TAS25) is a collaborative initiative that aims to promote digital innovation and artificial intelligence across Africa. The event is made possible through the support of key partners, including the World Bank, Orange Guinea, Sky Connect, VDC Telecom, CBG, GUICOPRES, MTN, ARPT, ANSUTEN, SOGEB, GUILAB, Leader Net Service, Huawei, Poste SA, ANDE, ANSSI, and Canal+.

One of the most notable initiatives announced at the event is a 25% reduction in Internet tariffs by Orange Guinea. This reduction in costs is a breakthrough for digital inclusion and accessibility in Guinea, making the internet more affordable for a larger portion of the population. The goal is to reduce connectivity costs in Guinea, fostering a digital-first culture and promoting economic growth.

In addition to the tariff reduction, the national domain ".gn" has been officially launched, and Guinea has inaugurated its first Tier III national data center. These developments underscore Guinea's growing ambition to establish itself as a leading player in Africa's digital economy.

The Guinean government has committed to modernizing digital infrastructure, a commitment that is further highlighted by these initiatives. The government is supported in its digital initiatives by the Smart Africa partnership, which promotes ICT policy, entrepreneurship, job creation, and knowledge sharing across Africa.

The high-profile event was chaired by Djiba Diakité, Minister, Chief of Cabinet and Chairman of the Simandou Strategic Committee, and was attended by representatives of republican institutions, members of the CNR and government, senior civil and military authorities, members of the diplomatic corps, and Guinea's technical and financial partners.

The 7th edition of the Transform Africa Summit (TAS25) will be held in Conakry, Guinea from November 12-14, 2025. As Guinea moves forward with its digital transformation, the event promises to be a landmark moment in the country's journey towards becoming a hub for innovation and technology in the region.
