Gun-wielding assailants attack late shoppers
Late-Night Robbery on Oranienstraße, Kreuzberg: Shop Owner Unharmed but Shaken
Last night, a 51-year-old shop owner in Kreuzberg's Oranienstraße was the victim of a robbery at gunpoint. Two unknown individuals entered the shop around midnight, causing quite a scare.
The robbers approached the shop owner behind the counter, pointing firearms. One of the robbers struck the owner on the head with his weapon, but thankfully, the shop owner did not require hospitalization after the incident. He sustained a head wound and a scrape on his shin but declined medical treatment.
During the robbery attempt, the suspected robbers attempted to tamper with the cash register, but the cash register was damaged instead. The robbers made no attempts to take any other items from the shop besides the cash, and the shop owner did not report any missing items following the robbery.
The police are investigating the incident, with the robbery unit from the Police Directorate 5 (City) taking the lead. The police are reviewing surveillance footage from the area for leads and are urging witnesses to come forward with any information regarding the robbery.
The perpetrators of the robbery have not been publicly identified, and the police are working closely with local authorities to gather evidence. A customer alerted the police, causing the robbers to flee the scene empty-handed.
