Gunfire Erupts Across NYC: One Fatality, Two Injured in Three Unrelated Incidents in Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan within Two Hours

In a tragic turn of events, a man was fatally shot outside the Jefferson Houses located at 310 East 113th St. in Queens at 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 7. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and shoulder, and was rushed to Harlem Hospital in critical but stable condition. However, the identity of the victim remains pending family notification.

The shooting took place behind a store at 134-29 Guy R Brewer Blvd. in Rochdale, and no description of a suspect was provided. The 113th Precinct responded to the scene, but no connection has been made between this shooting and any other incidents in Manhattan, the Bronx, or other parts of Queens.

The 113th Precinct's most recent CompStat report showed four homicides in the precinct, one fewer than the year-to-date total at the same point last year. However, the precinct did not provide statistics regarding shootings in their area.

Meanwhile, the 23rd Precinct in Harlem has seen a decrease in shootings. Through Aug. 31, there were just five shootings year-to-date, down from seven at the same point last year.
