Han Solo actor Alden Ehrenreich discusses potential return to the role
In a recent conversation with Collider, Alden Ehrenreich, the actor who brought the iconic character Han Solo to life in the 2018 prequel film, Solo: A Star Wars Story, discussed the possibility of reprising his role in future Star Wars projects.
Ehrenreich, who finds it special to be a part of a franchise with so much heart and meaning to people, stated that he was "over the moon" about being part of the Star Wars universe. He emphasized the importance of working in an environment where people feel safe, and he expressed excitement when he was casted for the Solo prequel.
When asked about reprising his role as Hans Solo, Ehrenreich stated that he would only consider it if it was "the right version" of the character. He elaborated on his approach to acting, explaining that his job involves using the energy that's happening around him, which sometimes involves stress, but characters are under stress.
As of now, Ehrenreich has not received any official confirmation about his involvement in a new Star Wars production. No new project has been officially announced or confirmed for him. However, it's worth noting that The Mandalorian and Grogu, the first Star Wars movie to hit the big screen since 2019's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, is scheduled for release in May 2026.
Another upcoming Star Wars project, Star Wars: Starfighter, is set to premiere on May 28, 2027. Ehrenreich added that there are very few characters who are just having a ball, and sometimes it can be contributive.
Ehrenreich's character in Solo has a lot of dimension in the Star Wars universe, and it will be interesting to see if he gets the chance to reprise his role in future projects. For now, fans can look forward to the upcoming Star Wars movies and eagerly await any official announcements regarding Ehrenreich's involvement.
