Harry, Duke of Sussex, publicly reveals a charitable contribution of €1.4 million from his personal funds.
Prince Harry, 40, returned to the UK for a few days, using the opportunity to reaffirm his long-standing connection to the city of Nottingham. During his visit on September 9, 2025, the royal made a significant donation of 1.1 million pounds to local organisations working to support young people.
The donation, which will be matched by an additional 400,000 dollars from the charity organisation "Children in Need", will benefit youth initiatives in Nottingham that aim to care for young people in areas affected by violence.
Upon arrival, Harry paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on the third anniversary of her death by laying a wreath at Windsor Castle. His visit to Nottingham, however, was focused on highlighting the work of two local organisations: Epic Partners and the Community Recording Studio (CRS).
Epic Partners, an organisation that focuses on youth engagement, and the CRS, which specialises in music and mentoring programs, both received financial support for their work addressing violence and creating opportunities for Nottingham's youth.
At the CRS, Harry listened to music performances, accompanied a recording session in the studio, and discussed the challenges of youth in the city with those involved. He described the work of the organisations as "not only inspiring but also essential".
The donation will flow into safe spaces where trained youth workers can show young people perspectives, build trust, and help them develop their talents. Harry reaffirmed his pride in investing in the community, stating that the donation, with the support of Children in Need, can have an even greater impact and make more projects for young people possible.
In addition to his commitment to fighting youth violence and knife crime in Nottingham, Harry has been the patron of the WellChild organisation for years. He celebrated the 20th anniversary of the charity at the London Royal Lancaster Hotel during his visit.
Throughout his visit, Harry took time to talk to young people, police officers, and representatives of local initiatives, showing his continued dedication to supporting the community and the next generation.
