Haryana Steelers and U Mumba End in a 36-36 Stalemate in PKL 2025, but Haryana Steelers Secure Victory in the Ensuing Tie-Breaker
The Vishwanadh Sports Club in Vizag was the stage for an electrifying contest between Haryana Steelers and U Mumba in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 on September 3, 2025.
The match started with Ajit Chouhan, the key raider for U Mumba, opening the scoring. However, Haryana Steelers faced an early setback with U Mumba inflicting the quickest All-Out (2-12) of the season.
U Mumba quickly regained control after the break, extending their lead to 24-21 within the first two minutes. The captain of the U Mumba team, Sunil Kumar, led the charge. Ajit Chouhan continued to excel, contributing vital raid points, and even completed his Super 10, helping U Mumba push ahead again in the final quarter.
However, Haryana Steelers began a comeback, narrowing the deficit to 8-14 by the 10th minute. Vinay executed a brilliant raid, bringing Haryana Steelers closer to U Mumba in the closing stages of the first half. The match was far from over.
The first half ended with a superb tackle on Ajit Chouhan, made by an unnamed player, making the score 19-20 in favour of U Mumba. The second half saw a series of intense raids and tackles, leading to the first tie-breaker of the match.
In the tie-breaker, Jaya Soorya and Vinay contributed crucial points for Haryana Steelers. Shivam Patare, a standout defender, sealed the win for Haryana Steelers with a remarkable Super Raid that eliminated Rohit Raghav, Sandeep, and Rinku, swinging momentum towards Haryana.
Naveen Kumar, another key player for Haryana Steelers, inflicted an All Out in the final three minutes, putting Haryana Steelers ahead for the first time in the match. Naveen Kumar's crucial Super Raid in the dying moments of the tie-breaker reduced the deficit to 27-31, but it was too little too late for U Mumba.
In the end, Haryana Steelers clinched their first Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 victory, overcoming U Mumba in a nail-biting tie-breaker. This was the second tie-breaker U Mumba faced in Pro Kabaddi League Season 12, and the third tie-breaker across twelve games in the season. The victory marks a significant milestone for Haryana Steelers, and they will look to build on this momentum in their upcoming matches.
