Jürgen von Massenbach-Bardt Appointed as President of Konstanz Police Headquarters

Jürgen Freiherr von Massenbach-Bardt, a seasoned figure in the Baden-Württemberg police service, has been appointed as the President of Konstanz Police Headquarters. His career in the police force spans over three decades, with his first joining the service in 1985.

Throughout his career, von Massenbach-Bardt has held several top positions within the Baden-Württemberg State Police. He began his ascent within the ranks, promoted to higher police service in 1994 and senior police service in 2000. His leadership roles include serving as the head of staff, head of the Institute for Training, and most recently as vice-president of the Baden-Württemberg Police Academy.

In 2005, von Massenbach-Bardt became a lecturer in Deployment Sciences at the Baden-Württemberg Police Academy. His academic pursuits were complemented by his practical experience, serving as the head of the Deployment Department and deputy head at the readiness police directorate Böblingen in 2008.

Von Massenbach-Bardt's contributions to the field of police education were recognised in 2012, when he led the Head of Project Office in the partial project "Baden-Württemberg Police Academy" as part of the Police Reform Project. In 2014, he was the head of Presidential Staff at the Baden-Württemberg Police Academy, and in 2017, he became the head of the Institute for Further Education at the same institution.

His most recent appointment, in 2022, saw him holding the positions of head of Presidential Staff and deputy head of the Academy as Education Presidency at the Baden-Württemberg Police Academy. In 2023, he was appointed as the vice-president of the Baden-Württemberg Police Academy.

Thomas Blenke, State Secretary, expressed his satisfaction with the appointment, praising von Massenbach-Bardt's extensive experience and commitment to the police force. Uwe Stürmer, the outgoing Police President of Konstanz Police Headquarters, has done excellent work in recent months. With von Massenbach-Bardt's appointment, Stürmer can now fully focus on his tasks in the Ravensburg Police Headquarters again.

As the President of Konstanz Police Headquarters, von Massenbach-Bardt is now responsible for around 1,500 employees, a role he is well-equipped to handle given his extensive experience and dedication to the police force.

The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior, responsible for digitalization and municipalities, oversees the police force, including the Konstanz Police Headquarters and the Baden-Württemberg Police Academy, which is a part of the Baden-Württemberg State Police.
