Helicopter disaster in Manhattan: Last transmission from the pilot before the crash
In an unexpected turn of events, a helicopter owned by New York Helicopter, based in Manhattan, met with a tragic accident near the New Jersey shore. The incident occurred just a few minutes after the helicopter took off at around 3 p.m. local time in downtown Manhattan.
According to the helicopter's owner, Michael Roth, the aircraft ran out of fuel, leading to the emergency landing. The helicopter radioed for an urgent landing and fuel, and Roth confirmed that it took 20 minutes longer than expected for the helicopter to arrive at the designated location.
The helicopter followed a route over the southern tip of Manhattan, flying along the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey. At the northern end of Manhattan, the helicopter turned around, but unfortunately, the fuel situation worsened.
There is speculation that the aircraft broke apart in mid-air, as videos circulating online show the helicopter plunging into the water like a stone. A witness reported that the rotor blade detached before the crash.
Despite extensive searches, there are no current search results reporting the name of the pilot involved in the accident. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and more information is expected to be released in due course.
Our thoughts are with the families and friends affected by this unfortunate event. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
