Helicopter Journey from Hyderabad to Srisailam: Telangana Introduces Stunning Aerial Tourism Pathways
Telangana, a southern Indian state, is set to redefine its tourism landscape, aiming to transition from being a stopover to a destination state. This ambitious plan was announced by Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, who recently unveiled the launch of heli-tourism services connecting Hyderabad with Somasila via Srisailam.
Rao's vision includes several major projects, with an investment of INR 68 crore. These projects include a wellness and spiritual retreat on Amaragiri Island, a boating point and VIP ghat upgrades at Somasila, and other initiatives in Nalamma and Eegalapenta.
The most ambitious project is the INR 45.84 crore wellness and spiritual retreat on Amaragiri Island. This retreat is expected to reshape Telangana's tourism identity, offering visitors a unique blend of relaxation, spirituality, and adventure.
In addition to these projects, plans are underway to expand water sports and adventure tourism to attract both domestic and international visitors. This move is part of the government's strategy to market Telangana as more than just a land of heritage monuments and temples.
The future responsible authority for the helicopter services in Telangana is the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC). The heli-tourism project is being rolled out in partnership with travel platform EaseMyTrip.
Passengers will soon be able to enjoy helicopter rides offering bird's-eye views of the Nallamala forests, the Srisailam dam, and stretches of the Krishna river. This exciting prospect has locals in Somasila and Amaragiri optimistic about new opportunities in hospitality, transport, and adventure sports, once services are launched.
Officials believe that this mix of helicopter rides, wellness retreats, and spiritual circuits will reshape Telangana's tourism identity, attracting a diverse range of tourists and boosting both domestic and foreign tourist numbers. The state's tourism ambitions aim to provide visitors with unforgettable experiences, encouraging them to return and share their stories, thereby promoting Telangana as a must-visit destination.
