Holy Cross Student Thomas Gangemi '26 Named Crusader of the Week and Organises Sophomore Ball
Thomas Gangemi IV '26, a Political Science and Architectural Studies major, has been named the Crusader of the Week. In addition to his academic pursuits, Gangemi played a significant role in organising the Sophomore Ball, a much-anticipated event for the Class of '26.
The Sophomore Ball, held on February 23rd in the Hogan Ballroom, was a resounding success with a large turnout. The event, which followed a casino night during the fall orientation for the Class of '26, offered a break from the busy week for students. Tickets were available for purchase on MyHC for $15, and the evening ran from 8-11 pm.
The ballroom was adorned with multicolor lights, which could be seen from Hoval, and the event featured pizza, beverages, a DJ, and casino games. Students who attended enjoyed spending time with friends and meeting new classmates.
The large turnout at the Sophomore Ball could allow the class council to host more events for the Class of '26 in the future. Information sessions for studying abroad in the 2024-2025 school year have already begun, aiming to inform students about the programs and the application process.
In addition to Thomas Gangemi IV '26, Blake Bacas '26 was also honoured as the Crusader of the Week. Bacas, a student from Saratoga Springs, NY, is majoring in Economics & Political Science.
Large turnouts have been seen at the study abroad information sessions, indicating a strong interest among students in broadening their horizons. These sessions will continue throughout the month, providing students with valuable information and opportunities to learn about studying abroad.
The Class of '26 hosted the Sophomore Ball, which was attended by a large part of the class. The event served as a great opportunity for students to come together and celebrate their shared experiences. With the success of the Sophomore Ball, the Class of '26 is surely set for a memorable year.
