High-Stakes Gambler, 3DTemujiN, Wins €492,000 in Elite Poker Tournament
A Kazakh poker whizz dominated the packed field at the High Roller tournament during the PokerStars EPT festival at Monte Carlo's glitzy Sporting complex in Monaco, securing a mind-blowing second-place finish and becoming the wealthiest Kazakhstan player in history.
With a buy-in of €25,000 and one re-entry permitted, the tournament didn't boast a guaranteed prize pool, leaving the total payout dependent on the number of entries. Top players from all corners of the globe flooded the event, including heavy-hitters like Bryn Kenney, Rainer Kempe, Nick Petrangelo, Sam Greenwood, Ryan Riess, Steve O'Dwyer, Justin Bonomo, John Juanda, Eric Siddiqui, Stephen Chidwick, Dominik Nitsche, and Russian-speaking pros like Mikhail Voskoboynikov, Ramin Hajiyev, Alexander Uskov, Nikita Bodyakovskiy, Vladimir Troyanovskiy, and Aleksei Horoshenin.
After 10 grueling hours on the first day, our Kazakh entrant boosted their starting stack from 50,000 to an impressive 79,000, settling into 32nd place among the surviving 43 players. A whopping 112 entries were made on the first day alone.
The second day brought success for the Kazakh player, thanks to a couple of crucial hands.

In the early stages, our player pulled almost double their stack by catching a fortune-laden two pair against an opponent's pocket aces.
By the 14th level, with only 24 players left, the Kazakh's stack reached an impressive 400K, placing them among the tournament's leaders.
Taking a well-deserved break, our player sat comfortably in 5th place out of the remaining 16 players.
However, a dip in the stack was on the horizon. After a bit of a tough streak, the day ended with the player still holding 390K chips and securing the final table slot.

At the beginning of the final day, a player from Kazakhstan claimed a decisive chip. Alexei Khoroshenin opened with a raise, to which our player went all-in. The Ukrainian pro called and showed AJc. The pocket nines held, increasing the stack to 730K.
At the same level, the Kazakhstani player eliminated a Dutch player with the shortest stack.
On the next level, a player from Hong Kong met their demise - their QQ couldn't hold against A7s of the Kazakhstani player.
The highly anticipated showdown between Khoroshenin and Shyngys proved fatal for the Ukrainian. Earlier, he had lost a substantial pot, and in the Top 4, his AQo failed to outrun AKc of the Kazakhstani player, ending both their tournament runs.
