Highway 66 Accident Towards Frankfurt: Mishap Occurs Between Poland and Western Destination

In an unexpected turn of events, a wildlife accident disrupted traffic on the A66 towards Frankfurt at the Diedenbergen junction in Wiesbaden, Germany, on November 2, 2024, at 4:27 AM.

According to the Police Headquarters Westhessen, a 58-year-old driver traveling in a Ford Transit was unfortunate enough to hit a deer that crossed the road from right to left. The impact caused only minor damage to the Ford Transit, but the deer continued its journey, running into several stationary vehicles.

The deer, injured from the initial collision, stopped again on the left lane. Four officers from the West Hesse Police Headquarters, led by Police Chief Inspector Markus Weber, quickly responded to the scene. They managed to drive the injured animal towards an adjacent field, where it was put out of its misery by a summoned game warden.

However, the fate of the deer after the second collision with the stationary vehicles remains unclear. As for the other vehicles involved, no information is available yet regarding any potential damages they may have sustained.

Traffic was halted to ensure the safety of both the officers and the animals involved. The incident caused a temporary disruption to the morning commute, but the situation was soon brought under control.
