A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 in Lindale, Texas, on Saturday afternoon has left 17 individuals injured and the westbound lanes of the interstate closed for hours.

The collision, which occurred around 4 p.m., involved two tractor-trailers and six passenger vehicles. The crash resulted in a significant spill of oil and diesel fuel on the roadway, with cleanup crews working to clear the area.

The injured individuals were swiftly transported to local hospitals, but no updates on their conditions or the number of injured have been provided. Lindale, Texas, Fire Chief Jeremy LaRue confirmed that the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the cause of the accident. As of now, no new information regarding the number of injured individuals or the severity of their injuries has been disclosed.

The crash location was approximately 90 miles (144 kilometers) east of Dallas, near Lindale. The interstate was shut down due to the crash and cleanup efforts, with the westbound lanes remaining closed more than two hours after the accident.
