In a surprising turn of events, several celebrities have expressed support for President Trump, bucking the trend of a Hollywood industry often critical of the political sphere.

Woody Allen, the renowned film director, called Trump a "pleasure to work with" and a very good actor during their collaboration on the 1998 movie "Celebrity." John Rich, a country singer, believes the resistance to President Trump in Hollywood is starting to crack due to concerns about cancel culture. He even mentioned a comedian, whose identity remains undisclosed, who feared being cancelled and ultimately decided to vote for Trump.

Carrie Underwood, a singer, performed at Trump's inauguration in January, making her one of the most notable celebrities to do so. Snoop Dogg, another high-profile artist, initially faced backlash for performing at Trump's inauguration. However, he responded with love, saying, "For all the hate, I'm going to answer with love." Snoop later expressed "nothing but love and respect" for President Trump after he pardoned a man connected to Death Row Records who had helped Snoop early in his career.

Jeff Dunham, a comedian, stated that Trump's victory is a weight off comics' backs, allowing them to get back to old jokes. Bill Maher, though not a Trump supporter, also recently praised the president. In an interview with Woody Allen, Maher joked that if you thought you were cancelled before, you haven't seen anything yet.

Kid Rock and Snoop Dogg are among the celebrities who have expressed that they now feel "safe" to show their support for President Trump. Kid Rock joked that celebrities are "welcome to the party" now that they feel safe to express their political views.

Eric Schiffer, CEO of Reputation Management Consultants, stated that Hollywood has learned that attacking half the country is a "dumb growth strategy" and flattering is "smart, scalable, and safe." Doug Eldridge, of Achilles PR, echoed Schiffer's comments, saying Hollywood follows what's hot, what's not, and most importantly, what's cold. The calculation in Hollywood has become binary: elections are won by ballot boxes; movies are won by box offices, and the same majority of Americans who voted for Trump would line up to buy tickets to those same actors' next feature film.

Allen, who voted for Vice President Kamala Harris, praised Trump as an actor, taking issue with him on 99% of the things. He stated that Trump was polite, hit his mark, and had a real flair for show business during their collaboration.

The support of these celebrities for President Trump marks a shift in the Hollywood landscape, as the industry grapples with the implications of cancel culture and the changing political climate.
