Homeowner ties knot with television personality met on HGTV program
In a heartwarming twist of events, a high school friendship and a popular HGTV show have led to a romantic connection. Erin Napier, star of the hit series "Home Town", shared a heartwarming story on her Instagram Story about her childhood friend Brad Smith, who appeared on the show's Season 8 episode titled "Do You Believe in Bradgic?".
The episode, which aired in May 2024, saw Napier and her husband Ben renovate Smith's home in Laurel, Mississippi, after his divorce. During the renovation, Smith's nice smile caught the eye of Emily, who left a comment on Napier's Instagram post about the episode, complete with a grinning face emoji and a winking face emoji.
Napier, noticing Emily's comment, responded and tagged Brad Smith, indicating her compliment. Smith, who saw the exchange, was intrigued and reached out to Emily. The rest, as they say, is history. The couple began dating, got engaged in 2025, and tied the knot in May 2025.
Napier also shared a screenshot of the social media exchange that brought the couple together, further emphasising the serendipitous nature of their meeting.
The "Home Town" Season 8 episode also featured a special performance by the band Sunday's Maria, a group that included Napier and Smith when they were 15 and were in the high school choir together.
For fans of the show, old episodes of "Home Town" can be streamed on Hulu and HBO Max. "Home Town" is currently on hiatus but is set to return for Season 10 in early 2026, according to HGTV.
