Nintendo's Blockbuster Sale: Save Big with My Nintendo Gold Points
Nintendo has announced a massive discount event for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, dubbed the Blockbuster Sale. This sale, available on Nintendo.com and the Nintendo eShop, runs until the 14th of September 2025.
During the sale, customers can enjoy discounts on a variety of games and DLC for the Nintendo Switch system. To make the savings even sweeter, Nintendo is offering My Nintendo Gold Points on eligible purchases.
What are My Nintendo Gold Points?
My Nintendo Gold Points are a reward system that allows customers to save on future purchases. For every £1 spent (excluding tax and any points or discounts used), customers can earn 5% in My Nintendo Gold Points. These points can be redeemed towards the purchase of other eligible games, DLC, Nintendo Switch Online memberships, and more.
However, it's important to note that Gold Points have no cash value and cannot be used to purchase the games included in the sale, such as MetroidTM Dread, Xenoblade ChroniclesTM 3, and Super Mario PartyTM.
How to Earn and Redeem Gold Points
Customers can earn Gold Points during the sale on Nintendo.com or the Nintendo eShop. Once earned, Gold Points can be redeemed after the sale ends on June 25 at 11:59 p.m. PT. To redeem the points, simply visit the My Nintendo section of your account and follow the instructions.
Please note that a full version of the game is required to use DLC, which is sold separately and cannot be purchased with Gold Points. A Nintendo Account is also required to receive and redeem My Nintendo points.
