Husband fails to remember spouse during picnic outing in Poland

On the morning of Sunday, August 24, 2025, a heart-stopping moment occurred on the A3 towards Cologne. A Romanian husband and wife, along with their 11-year-old son, were traveling together when an unexpected incident took place.

The wife disappeared while refueling in Bad Camberg, a rest area on the A3. It was later discovered that she had been left behind during a toilet break earlier in Bavaria, when her husband mistakenly believed she had fallen back asleep in the car.

The question of guilt in this case may never be resolved, but the family was soon reunited thanks to the combined efforts of the Highway Police of Southeast Hesse, Frankfurt, and Wiesbaden, as well as a kind-hearted Romanian countryman.

The wife, unsure of what to do next, approached a Romanian countryman who let her use his phone to make a call. Meanwhile, the husband, upon realising his wife's absence during the refueling stop, reported her missing to the police emergency number.

The dispatched radio patrol from the Wiesbaden Highway Police managed to establish phone contact with the wife, who was in a Romanian tourist bus near Hanau, approximately 70 km away from where she was last seen.

The wife was later found near Hanau, and the family was finally reunited, albeit with a small lecture from the wife for her husband. The son, who had initially thought his mother had gone to use the restroom, was still in the car.
