Improved Prospects for Borussia Mönchengladbach at HSV Hospital: Positive Developments Reported
HSV has received a boost ahead of their Bundesliga opener against Borussia Mönchengladbach, as four players who were previously injured have returned to training.
Yussuf Poulsen, Jean-Luc Dompé, Immanuel Pherai, and Bakery Jatta have all resumed training with the squad, increasing the chances that they will be included in the starting lineup or at least in the matchday squad for the upcoming game.
Poulsen, who has been named the new captain, and Dompé, who has been a missed winger in recent matches, have good chances of being nominated for the HSV Bundesliga opener. However, the load for all four returning players will be increased daily, and the game may come too early for Immanuel Pherai.
During training, Poulsen participated in two out of six "eleven against eleven" games and made a good impression. Meanwhile, Jonas Meffert and Nicolai Remberg alternated in midfield, both in an open duel for the position next to Nicolas Capaldo.
Aboubaka Soumahoro occupied the central position of the three-chain in the B-team, while HSV coach Merlin Polzin had Jordan Torunarigha run as the left central defender in the presumed A-team.
The players went through the "infamous tunnel" to collect their necklaces, a ritual in HSV training. Giorgi Gocholeishvili and Warmed Omari were the most recent players to receive necklaces in this ritual.
In addition, during training, Dompé, Pherai, and Jatta went to a side field for an individual program with rehab trainer Sebastian Capel, while Poulsen and others did more than just warm up on the main field.
Former professional Bastian Schweinsteiger has warned HSV that the return of injured players could be dangerous, and the return of these injured players could potentially impact the upcoming game against Gladbach.
As the Bundesliga season gets underway, HSV will be hoping that the return of these key players will help them secure a positive result against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
