Barcelona currently have seven points after three rounds, while Real Madrid, who beat Maiorca 2-1, lead the table with nine points. Athletic Club and Real Madrid have won all their games and have two more points than Barcelona.

Atlético Madrid drew away to Alavés 1-1, remaining winless after three rounds.

On a separate note, Benfica has put pressure on refereeing, stating that they will be "attentive and vigilant" following a series of controversial decisions in their recent matches.

In other news, Andrei Raitu had a shot blocked by Joan Garcia at 12' in a different match, while Sergio Camello's goal for Rayo Vallecano was disallowed for offside at 87'.
