The day began with a vehicle fire on a shopping center parking deck. At precisely 15:31 (3:31 PM), the Bocholt Fire Department received the call and swiftly responded. Four vehicles and 10 personnel were on the scene to tackle the blaze, which was caused by a technical malfunction. Fortunately, the driver had safely parked the vehicle before the fire started.
The vehicle fire led to large parts of the city ring being closed for the operation due to the traffic accident. The congestion caused by the incident disrupted the city's flow, but the Bocholt Fire Department worked diligently to contain the situation.
Later in the afternoon, at 16:04 (4:04 PM), the fire department was called to a traffic accident on the Theodor Heuß Ring at the corner of Ebertstraße. Three emergency vehicles and one fire engine, along with 10 personnel, were on the scene for the incident. The traffic accident involved two vehicles and resulted in three injured patients.
The Bocholt Fire Department treated the patients promptly, and after they were attended to, some lanes on the city ring were reopened by the police.
