Tom Pidcock Secures Second European Title in Cycling

Tom Pidcock, the reigning Olympic Champion in the XCO discipline, has added another accolade to his impressive collection. The English cyclist recently secured his second European title in cycling at the European Mountain Bike Cross-Country Championships in Melgaço, Portugal.

Pidcock, who had been focusing on the road for the first half of 2025, participating in a heavy schedule of Spring Classics followed by the Giro d'Italia, returned to his roots in July. Taking advantage that his team was not invited to the Tour de France, he turned his attention to mountain biking.

In his first race back on the dirt in a year, Pidcock showcased his prowess, winning in Andorra while wearing a white and gold skinsuit to pay tribute to his Olympic title. This victory in Portugal marks his second European title, following his win in Munich in 2022.

The nine-lap race at the European Championships saw Pidcock work his way from a disadvantaged position to the top 10 by the end of the first lap. Halfway through the race, he joined and took over from a solo Charlie Aldridge (Cannondale Factory). On the fifth lap, Pidcock powered away from Aldridge to race to victory, crossing the line with a time of 1:21.02.

Simon Andreassen (Orbea Fox) finished third in the men's mountain bike cross-country race, with Aldridge taking second place. Pidcock, representing the English national team, wore Team GB skinsuit in Portugal, continuing his winning ways in the country.

In Portugal, Pidcock added another chapter to his already impressive cycling career, proving once again why he is a force to be reckoned with in the world of cycling. His second European title is a testament to his dedication, skill, and unwavering passion for the sport.
