In the inaugural round of the Roshn Saudi League, two teams have made a strong start - Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ittihad.
The action kicked off at the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam, where Al-Ittihad took on Al-Okhdood. The match ended in a resounding 5-2 victory for Al-Ittihad. The scoring began early, with Karim Benzema netting the first goal just four minutes into the game. Stephen Bergwijn followed suit with a goal at the 7th minute, setting the tone for the rest of the match.
Sebastián Pedroza scored the first goal for Al-Okhdood, but it was not enough to prevent a defeat. The fourth goal for Al-Ittihad was an own goal scored by Al-Okhdood defender Saeed Al-Rubaie. Pedroza managed to score another goal for Al-Okhdood, but it was too little, too late. The fifth and final goal for Al-Ittihad was scored by none other than Karim Benzema, bringing his total to three for the match.
Meanwhile, at the Prince Hazlul bin Abdulaziz Sports City in Najran, Al-Qadsiah faced off against Al-Najma. This match also ended in a victory for Al-Qadsiah, with a score of 3-1. The first goal for Al-Qadsiah was scored by Matteo Retegui, followed by a second goal from Julian Quiñones. Al-Najma's only response came from Ali Jassim. Quiñones added a third goal for Al-Qadsiah to secure the victory.
These victories mark the first wins for both Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ittihad in the first round of the Roshn Saudi League. The scores of the two matches are 5-2 in favor of Al-Ittihad and 3-1 in favor of Al-Qadsiah. The Roshn Saudi League is off to an exciting start, with these two teams setting a high bar for the rest of the competition.
