In the Arena of Europa-Park in Rust, the popular German talk show "Immer wieder sonntags" returned with a special episode this past weekend. The show, which has been a staple in German television since 2005, had a unique atmosphere due to the recent emotional events experienced by its moderator, Stefan Mross.

Mross, who has been at the helm of the show for over a decade, with a few exceptions, paid tribute to his mother with a heartfelt song during the live broadcast. This was the first time he had felt such emotion since the loss of his father 15 years ago, he shared.

The show, as Mross mentioned, would be different due to these emotions. The audience could sense the sincerity and depth of his feelings, a sentiment echoed by the moderator himself. Only those who have experienced similar situations, he said, can truly understand the emotions of the last two weeks.

The show featured guests such as Beatrice Egli, Nicole, Ronja, and Maximilian Arland, but it was Mross's personal tribute that stole the spotlight. After his moving performance, he addressed his girlfriend Eva Luginger and brother, thanking them for their support.

Mross's ex-wife Stefanie Hertel stepped in as host during a family-related break he took in August 2025. This time, Mross had explicitly asked Hertel to take over the moderation of the show in his absence. She did so gracefully, and Mross took the time to thank her for her efforts during the previous week.

The show was lively, as Mross hosted it according to his mother's words: "Make people laugh, people want to sing." There was prolonged applause for the moderator at the beginning of the show, and the audience was treated to a performance of "Who would I be without you" after Mross's tribute.

Mario Adorf, a regular on the show, expressed a thought this year that "That's enough" at some point. Despite the heavy emotions, the show maintained its usual charm and humour, making it a memorable episode for both the audience and the guests.
