Inclement weather alert in UAE: Fog warnings enforced; certain regions anticipate rainfall
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a warning for several regions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday morning, advising residents in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra about potential fog formation and possible rainfall.
According to the NCM, there's a chance of light rainfall in the Eastern and Southern parts of the country. The forecast also predicts light to moderate winds, which may freshen at times.
Temperatures in Abu Dhabi and Dubai could reach as low as 31°C and 33°C respectively, but the mercury could soar as high as 49°C in some parts of the country. The conditions at sea will remain slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
The NCM has warned of a possible decrease in horizontal visibility in Western areas until 8.30 in the morning, but no specific regions for heavy rainfall have been mentioned. The temperature for Monday has not been provided in the forecast.
The UAE can generally expect fair to partly cloudy and cloudy conditions on Sunday, as per NCM forecasts. There's also a probability of fog or mist formation by night and Monday morning. It will be humid by night and Monday morning over some coastal and internal areas.
Interestingly, the maximum temperature in some areas of the UAE could be as low as 28°C, offering a refreshing contrast to the usual high temperatures.
However, no information has been provided about the visibility conditions after 8.30 in the morning or on Monday, nor about any traffic disruptions due to the fog. Additionally, the cause of the fog formation on Sunday remains unknown.
