Increase in Apprehensions under Trump's DC Criminality Clampdown Nears 1,700 Mark

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has shared new figures from President Donald Trump's federal crime operation in Washington D.C., which has seen a significant impact on the city's safety.

During the operation, over 200 arrests were made during the Labour Day weekend alone, with an additional 70 arrests made on Monday night. In total, the operation has resulted in 1,669 arrests.

The majority of these arrests were carried out under the deployment of the National Guard and federal forces, with the National Guard being armed and authorised to act in response to threats. Local police were also placed under federal control as part of Trump’s efforts to control crime in the city.

Notably, nearly 20 illegal guns were seized during the operation, bringing the total number of illegal guns removed from the streets to 168. However, no new information about arrests made during any other specific time period or during the homeless movement operation has been provided.

DC Mayor has issued an order to continue the presence of federal law enforcement, with the aim of addressing homelessness in the city. No new information about the arrests made during the homeless movement operation has been released.
