India's Agriculture Ministry to Display Organic Goods from the North-East Region at BioFach India 2025

The North-Eastern region of India is set to make a significant impact at BioFach India 2025, a major organic trade fair scheduled from August 30 to September 1. Over 27 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) supported under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for the North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) will present a variety of organic produce and value-added products.

These FPOs include the Mizoram Organic Indeed, Arunachal Pradesh Organic Farmers Federation, and the Manipur Organic Produce Export Promotion Group. They will showcase organic products such as ginger, turmeric, large cardamom, organic tea, and traditional spices, as well as cardamom, kiwi, pineapple, king chilli, whole spices, rice, millets, fresh fruits, processed fruits, and Geographical Indication (GI) products.

MOVCDNER, launched in 2015-16, is a flagship initiative to promote organic farming across the North-Eastern States. It focuses on end-to-end support for farmers, including production, processing, certification, and marketing. The aim is to ensure better market access and fair prices for farmers in the region.

Participating in BioFach India 2025 will provide these FPOs with an opportunity to connect with buyers, traders, and industry experts from India and abroad. This connection will enable the FPOs to explore new market avenues and partnerships.

The North-Eastern Region's organic products showcase is part of Phase-III of MOVCDNER. A Stakeholder Workshop Meeting was held to review the progress of Phase-III, during which state representatives presented the progress, success stories, and operational challenges encountered under the MOVCDNER.

The event will take place at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The participation of North-Eastern FPOs at BioFach India 2025 is expected to enhance the visibility of the region's organic products in both national and global markets. The first published report on this topic was on August 30, 2025.

MOVCDNER emphasizes forming organic clusters, supporting small and marginal farmers, and building sustainable value chains. By participating in BioFach India 2025, these FPOs are taking a significant step towards achieving these goals and contributing to the growth of the organic farming sector in the North-Eastern region.
