Man Faces Charges Following Incident at Bradford and South Simcoe Police Stations

A 37-year-old man from Bradford is facing several charges after an incident that took place on Sunday evening. The man, whose name has not been disclosed publicly, is suspected of being incapable of driving due to impairment and causing damage to both the Bradford and South Simcoe police station facilities.

The incident began when the man drove himself to the Bradford police station, allegedly under the influence of impairing substances. Upon arrival, he displayed erratic behaviour, causing a disturbance at the station.

The man's actions resulted in significant damage to the holding cell, including causing substantial flooding due to damage to the plumbing fixtures. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired operation of a vehicle and mischief under $5,000.

As a result of the impaired driving offence, the man's driver's licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. The man was also given a court date to answer to the charges.

In a related incident at the South Simcoe police station, the man caused additional damage, repeatedly kicking the door of the holding cell. The police linked the two incidents and determined that the man had driven himself to the station.

The man's erratic behaviour at the police station is believed to be related to the impaired driving offence. He has been charged with failing to comply with a demand in addition to the charges related to the incident at the South Simcoe police station.

The police responded to a report of suspicious activity in a local park on Sunday evening, but it is unclear if this incident is directly related to the charges against the man.

The Bradford man is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges against him. The public is reminded that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
