Individual unlawfully appropriates personal identification documents.
A 39-year-old man is currently under investigation for assault, attacks on police officers, insult, and resistance against law enforcement, following an incident at the public order office in Barth on Tuesday.
The man, who reportedly lost control, went berserk at the administrative building, causing an escalation at the Authority. According to reports, the incident occurred due to a request to apply for a new ID card.
The man demanded his expired ID back after being informed about the new ID application. However, when an employee, a 38-year-old woman, had deactivated the man's expired ID and applied for a new one, the man allegedly snatched the old ID from her hands.
In the ensuing chaos, the man is said to have pushed a woman against a printer and a 58-year-old colleague who tried to intervene was also pushed aside. The employee who was attacked works at the public order office.
Despite the attempts of other colleagues who arrived to help after the man had already left the building, the man's actions resulted in an additional escalation at the Authority.
The man fled the building following the incident. The employee who was attacked confirmed that the new ID would not be chargeable, but this information did not seem to pacify the man.
The man is now under investigation for bodily harm and assault on public officials or equivalent persons. The authorities are investigating the incident to determine the full extent of the man's actions and any potential motivations.
