Vandalism at Indonesian Honorary Consulate in Bremen

Overnight Sunday into Monday, an act of vandalism was committed against the Indonesian Honorary Consulate in Überseestadt, Bremen, Germany. Unknown individuals spray-painted the entrance area and exterior walls of the consulate with black paint, accompanied by the slogan “Tantang Tirani!” (“Challenge Tyranny!”).

The graffiti covered approximately 30 meters of the consulate's walls, and among it was the phrase "TANTANG TIRANI," which is preliminary indicated to be critical of the government. The estimated property damage from the vandalism is around 5,000 euros.

The incident occurred at around 2:15 a.m. on September 7, 2025. The Bremen State Office of Criminal Investigation has taken up the case regarding the vandalism, and witnesses are asked to contact the Criminal Duty Office at 0421 362-3888.

For non-emergency inquiries, the Bremen Police Consultation Service is available at http://www.polizei-beratung.de. Press inquiries can be directed to Nils Matthiesen at the Press Office, Bremen Police, reachable at 0421 361-12114.

Additional information can be found on the Bremen Police's official website: http://www.polizei.bremen.de. The vandalism is currently under investigation, and the Bremen Police have transmitted this information, as reported by news aktuell.

The incident targeted the Indonesian honorary consulate, and it is believed to be an act of rage and solidarity with the ongoing mass protests in Indonesia. The public is asked to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
