Indoor baths reopen in Braunschweig as outdoor bathing season concludes
The Stadtbad Braunschweig Sport and Leisure Ltd. has announced the reopening of several indoor pools in the city, following the closure of two outdoor pools earlier this summer.
After undergoing its annual maintenance and repair work in early summer, the Waterworld leisure pool is currently open at its usual opening hours. The swimming pool at Heidberg, on the other hand, will reopen on September 8. The reopening date for the BürgerBadePark indoor pool, however, has not been specified yet and will be announced within the next few days.
The reopening of these indoor pools comes as the outdoor swimming season in Braunschweig draws to a close. The outdoor pool Raffteich will close on September 7, and the swimming pool at Waggum has already closed its doors, marking the end of the outdoor swimming season.
Due to school swimming demand, the 25-meter hall at Heidberg will have restricted opening hours: closed on Tuesdays from 10 am to 3 pm and on Thursdays from 8 am. The sauna and the 50-meter hall at Heidberg are not affected by these restrictions.
The reopening date for the BürgerBadePark indoor pool depends on the weather forecast. Pool traffic light should be paid attention to on the last days of outdoor pool operation due to possible weather-related changes.
Luckily, the warm days can still be used for outdoor swimming before the indoor pools reopen. The Heidberg sports pool in Braunschweig is already operational, with the sauna and massage areas open. The Heidberg pool's sauna and the 50-meter hall are not affected by the restricted opening hours at the 25-meter hall.
