Industry Insights Reveal Optimistic Attitude Towards Generative AI Alongside Ethical Dilemmas in the Creative Sector

In an exciting development, Voices, the world's leading voice marketplace, has published the "AI in the Creative Industry Report" on April 28, 2023. The report, authored by Dr. Kai Hudetz of Bitkom, sheds light on the sentiments of creative professionals towards AI and generative AI.

The report reveals that over forty percent of surveyed creatives believe significant elements of their job can be automated by AI. However, two-thirds remain optimistic, believing that AI developments will create new job opportunities within their industry. A staggering 81% of creatives believe that AI will change core functions of their job within five years.

The report explores the sentiments of creative professionals towards generative AI. A notable 77% believe that content created by generative AI can enhance human creativity. In contrast, 60% of creatives have not yet used an AI voice, with over a third saying that AI voices were still too robotic.

David Ciccarelli, CEO and Founder of Voices, describes the sentiments as "curiosity and concern." The report also touches upon ethical issues related to AI, such as credit, consent, and compensation. Remarkably, 82% of creatives believe content creators should be credited for content used to train an AI model.

The report is based on responses from hundreds of creatives, including video producers, content creators, social media managers, and others. Of the 40% that have used an AI voice or text-to-speech service, nearly half did so because they needed a voice they could instantly download.

A remarkable 85% of creatives believe AI-generated content will eventually be indistinguishable from human-made content. Voices, with over 4 million registered users, has helped the biggest and most beloved brands to find professionals to bring their projects to life, matching clients with voice-over professionals in over 160 countries and 100+ languages and dialects.

The report reaffirms the excitement of creatives about new AI tools but equally highlights their concerns about ethical considerations. It serves as a valuable resource for understanding the evolving relationship between AI and the creative industry.
