Injured by a Kitchen Knife, According to the Political Report
In the heart of Reutlingen, Germany, an altercation between two acquaintances on August 11, 2025, escalated into a violent incident. The incident occurred around 10:40 AM on Kaiserstraße.
During the altercation, a 39-year-old man allegedly punched and pushed his younger counterpart. The younger man, a 34-year-old Syrian national, reportedly retrieved a knife from his car and injured the 39-year-old. The suspected weapon was found and seized in the 34-year-old's car.
The 39-year-old was taken to a hospital for treatment following the incident. The 34-year-old, who sustained injuries in the attack, was taken to a clinic by emergency services for initial treatment and was later taken into custody.
The 34-year-old suspect was provisionally arrested at the Bad Urach police station and presented to the judge at the Reutlingen District Court on Tuesday afternoon. He is currently in custody and is being investigated for attempted homicide.
The Public Prosecutor's Office in Tübingen and the Criminal Investigation Department in Reutlingen are investigating the incident. The 39-year-old suspect was provisionally arrested at the hospital and later released on Tuesday morning after completing the necessary police procedures.
