The Bochum Police have launched an investigation following a disturbing incident that occurred in Herne on February 1, 2025, at around 1:05 PM. The nature of the incident is a dangerous bodily injury.
As part of the investigation, the Bochum Police have published a cell phone photo of the man they believe is the suspect in the case. The photo can be found here. If the link does not work, it means the investigation has been solved and deleted by the LKA.
According to the police, the incident took place at the "Am Buschmannshof" stop, where the suspect and another unidentified individual attacked a man (22, from Herne) on the same train. The suspect is reported to have punched the victim several times in the face.
A witness (39, from Bochum) alerted the police after the attack. Witnesses are asked to contact the Criminal Watch at 0234 909-8505 or -4441 with any information they may have.
The suspect and the unknown individual are reported to have fled the scene in the direction of Hauptstraße / Gerichtsstraße after the attack. The police are urging anyone who may have seen the suspects or has information about their whereabouts to come forward.
